Jody Dean Ranch Rub
San Saba TX, 1882 - E.E. Risien discovered the Mother Pecan - a San Saba County pecan tree that he cross-bred into almost every variety of soft-shelled pecan enjoyed today. My great-grandfather planted several of his orchards. On my uncle’s ranch nearby, pecan wood was often used for barbecuing beef. I went back to the taste of those times; only what you would find on a chuck wagon, only what you might find along the southwestern trail. No bad-stuff and you won’t need much either. Enjoy!
Jody Dean is an Emmy Award winning member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. A writer, he's now in the film business - the best part of which is finding great little joints to eat at all over the place.
